A beautifully colored anyique Tibetan rug exhibiting the type of medallions of which Parpola speaks with regard to the TLV mirror and mandala patterns. The endless knots floating throughout the indigo blue field are quite lovely and an extremely rare format; one does not often see this pattern used in this manner.

The rug probably dates to the late 19th or early 20th century, indicated by the manner in which the meandering 'T' border is drawn as well as the floral elements in the corners of the field.
