An evocative Tibetan weaving, this rug presents a composition rooted in classical design vocabulary. The field is framed by a continuous swastika-meander border—an ancient and auspicious motif symbolising continuity and eternity—executed with confident rhythm and clarity.

At the centre rests an archaic medallion, anchored by a stylised floral rosette. Its presence is heightened by the masterful use of colour: the deep indigo ground, richly saturated, contrasts beautifully with the medallion’s outlines in warm yellow and soft brown, creating a subtle luminosity that gives the impression of the motif gently radiating from within the field.

Extending from the medallion are finely balanced “ram’s horn” elements, rendered with a precision and symmetry that speak to an older design tradition. Their reciprocal movement adds both dynamism and harmony to the composition, reinforcing the rug’s archaic character.

The result is a textile of quiet authority—where saturated colour, balanced geometry, and enduring symbolism come together in a composition of lasting visual resonance.
