An interesting saddle rug from the early 20th century. Dyed only with indigo of varying strength, the composition is at once simple and elegant. Foliate plant forms with prominent flower heads are the primary pattern.
But the pattern outlined in the centre of the rug is an exceptionally nice and unusual feature, one that is reminiscent of a Central Asian Aesthetic.
